Dogs and Murphy's Law!

Well time keeps flying by and I keep thinking I just made a post the other day and now realize it has been almost a month! In that month, Rosie has been holding her own, my 22 year old car I was forced to give up (long story and it only had 44,000 miles on her - seriously) and the refrigerator died! Not to mention the horrible wind storm we had last weekend and my 93 year old neighbor had his last two trees fall onto his house and yard. He is fine and so is the house. Very lucky and very scary. As to the other trees that were on his property, it is best not to be discussed but no one, regardless of age, should have had to go through what he went through! Good news, my mechanic had just bought his wife a new car and was selling his mini van. I can get all four dogs in it safely with crates and it is in excellent condition. God thwarted Murphy and his law! Hope everyone is well. Please keep praying for Haiti, Chile and our country! God Bless America and may God Bless you.

Rosie is holding her own again.

Almost afraid to let those words out of my mouth. She is starting to play again, bark is still hoarse but seeing her more active is a great thing. The dogs really give unconditional love and can turn a bad day around. My 22 year old car (with only 44,000 miles on it - seriously) just died a slow but honorable death. I am so not ready to be a new car so looking for a good used one...no new one with four dogs! God will provide, I have to be patient. Well time to make them dinner. Have a great day everyone and God Bless.

Rosie is still having her ups and downs

Every time we think this precious animal is getting better we seem to hit one of life's speed bumps. Those bumps seem to only phase us not Rosie. She is so resilient. Through all of this she has gotten more affectionate (hard to believe). Her brothers and sister have become more protective of her. Love abounds. Too bad, we humans don't take a lesson from our animals and start to show a more caring, nurturing compassionate nature. I will step off my soap box now. Have a great day everyone.

So much has gone on with Rosie

Hi everyone...so much has happened with poor Rosie. Took her to the Massachusetts Vet. Refferal hospital. An amazing place. They felt she had the auto immune disease but an MRI and blood work (that had to be medi-vac'd to San Diego) had to be done. Because she could not open her jaw they thought they would have to do a trach. A tech spent a ton of time and got a soft tube down her throat so no trach. YEAH. Blood work finally came back an it confirmed it is an auto immune disease. Not much known about this disease in dogs so for now she is on prednisone and the specialists will be meeting again to discuss the next step.

On another note, for those of you who live in MA we have an election coming up on Jan. 19th to fill Senator Ted Kennedy's vacant seat. I am an undecided voter in regards to party but I feel compelled to take a stance here. Scott Brown is clearly the far better choice and the Martha Coakley camp knows it. All they have done is bash Scott Brown and not talked about her actual credentials. Scott talks about his all the time and his record speaks for itself. I received three mailing from Martha today and according to one she will save the world if elected. Obama is coming to MA on Sunday to show his support (jury still out if that is a good thing) so you know the Democrats are running scared. Obama is worried about his healthcare reform not going through nothing more, nothing less. Here's a newsflash...it may not go through with or without her election. Mr. Obama this election is not about just your healthcare reform it is about the state of MA. Thanks for letting the MA voters know exactly how you feel about them. Oh by the way, I feel the same way about you. Why don't you go and take another vacation. PS I am officially becoming a Republican. Thank you Ms. Coakley.

Happy New Year

Please forgive the huge hiatus. We wish you a very happy and healthy New Year. I have not been posting because poor Rosie took a turn for the worse. Just when we thought she was making progress. To make a very long story short, she does have an auto immune disease. The vets have her on prednisone and time will tell what happens next. We took her to a specialist at Mass Vet Referral Hospital (a wonderful facility)and this is only the 3rd case our specialist had seen since 1994.
We sent out her blood work to San Diego (the only place in the US that tests for this) and will verify this is it next week. Only problem is this disease can pass down from mother and fathers so we will have to test the other three dogs. Rosie has been put through the ringer and she has been a trooper all the way. I will be better at making entries here and asking for your prayers for her continued healing. Thank you.

It's been awhile

Hi everyone! Sorry there has been such a time lapse but we have been busy, busy, busy. Getting ready for Christmas and taking poor Rosie to the vets for her jaw - time just seems to get away from me.

The lights outside are up and running. The tree is in the house. It's in the stand but no lights or ornaments yet. Mantel is done as well as the banister. Pointsettias are in their proper holders...whew! We have four white dogs lit in white lights on the second floor roof. They are pulling a sleigh...very funny. I will post a picture when I get a shot of it.

Well, it's a short one but I did want to say I have not completely forgotten my blog. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Now off to round two..bing!!!
